Tareque Rahman and Anwar Ibrahim in Bilateral Talks After Private Meeting

A private meeting between Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tareque Rahman and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has concluded. Following this, formal bilateral talks have commenced between high-level delegations led by the two heads of government.

This high-level meeting began on Monday (June 22). It is expected to cover detailed discussions on various important issues of mutual interest to both countries.

Earlier, a private meeting between Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tareque Rahman and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim had concluded.

Meanwhile, to welcome the Bangladeshi Prime Minister, national flags of Bangladesh and Malaysia were hoisted on both sides of the long road leading to the Prime Minister’s residence in Putrajaya.

Yesterday, Sunday, after completing formalities at Kuala Lumpur International Airport and arriving at the Shangri-La Hotel around 9:30 PM, the Prime Minister attended an exchange of views with Malaysian expatriates. He was accompanied by his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman.

The Prime Minister presented his thoughts and plans for nation-building to the expatriates. Tareque Rahman spoke about BNP’s electoral pledges, particularly programs such as the Family Card, Farmer Card, and canal re-excavation.
