Multiple US military aircraft have been damaged in a devastating nighttime attack on Jordan’s strategically important Muwaffaq Salti Air Base. Al Jazeera, citing various US media outlets, reported that the fighter jets stationed at the base suffered significant damage in the attack.
The report stated that an A-10 Thunderbolt warplane sustained a direct hit, resulting in one of its wings being completely severed. Additionally, at least eight F-15 fighter jets deployed at the base were temporarily damaged. However, military sources confirmed that the F-15 aircraft could be made operational again after initial repairs.
Jordan’s Muwaffaq Salti Air Base serves as one of the primary hubs for the US military presence and coordinated long-range operations in the Middle East. It is believed that the attack was carried out using remote-controlled drones and missiles amid ongoing regional tensions.
Following the incident, security has been heightened at the air base, and US and local military authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the matter.
