Prime Minister Tareq Rahman has arrived in New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). He is scheduled to address the General Assembly session on September 24.
A Turkish Airlines flight landed at John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport in New York at 6:20 PM local time on Monday. The Prime Minister is accompanied by his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, and other entourage members.
At the airport, the Prime Minister was welcomed by Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Irene Zubaida Khan, and Bangladesh’s Ambassador to the USA, Tareq Md. Ariful Islam.
Subsequently, the Prime Minister was taken in a motorcade from JFK Airport to the ‘Hyatt Grand Central New York’ hotel. There, he was welcomed by Bangladesh’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador AKM Wahiduzzaman.
During his visit to New York, Prime Minister Tareq Rahman will stay at the same hotel. In addition to participating in the UN General Assembly session, he is expected to take part in various programs during his visit.
The Prime Minister will depart for home on the night of September 25, after concluding his engagements in New York.
