Foreign Minister of India in Dhaka to pay tribute to Khaleda Zia

Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has arrived in Dhaka to pay his last respects to BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. He arrived in Dhaka at around 11:30 am on a special flight of the Indian Air Force on Wednesday (December 31).

Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar was welcomed by M Farhad Hossain, Secretary (Inter-Governmental Organizations and Consular Affairs) in the Ministry of External Affairs on his arrival at the Bangladesh Air Force Base.

Meanwhile, a message sent from the press wing of the Chief Adviser has informed that Manik Mia Avenue is ready for Khaleda Zia’s funeral. Janaza will be held in the grounds of Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan, outside and the entire Manik Mia Avenue.

All preparations have been completed so that people from all walks of life can pay respect to the national leader of Bangladesh and participate in his funeral. Necessary arrangements are being made to allow the public to stay on the roads around Manik Mia Avenue.

It is also said that Khaleda Zia will be buried with state dignity next to the martyred president, brave freedom fighter Ziaur Rahman at around 3:30 pm after the funeral. Khaleda Zia’s family members, state important persons, government officials, foreign guests, ambassadors and politicians nominated by Bangladesh Nationalist Party will be present. No one except designated persons will be allowed to enter there for the smooth completion of the burial. Public movement will be restricted at Zia Udyan in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar till the burial is completed.
