Neighboring country Bangladesh has stood by the Himalayan nation Nepal in its ongoing relief, recovery, and humanitarian assistance efforts following sudden floods and landslides.
As part of this initiative, Prime Minister Tareque Rahman’s government has donated 1 million US dollars (BDT 12.30 crore) to the Nepalese Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.
On Thursday (September 3), State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir handed over a letter from Prime Minister Tareque Rahman, addressed to Nepalese Prime Minister Balendra Shah, to Nepal’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanshyam Bhandari, at the state guest house Padma, informing him of this assistance.
Earlier, on Tuesday (September 1), State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir signed the condolence book opened at the Nepalese Embassy in Dhaka.
It is noteworthy that on August 27, the Bangladesh National Parliament also adopted a condolence motion in response to this devastating tragedy in Nepal.
