The Cabinet has approved the proposed 9th National Pay Scale for government employees. The new pay structure will be effective from July of the current year. The new pay scale proposes a salary increase of up to 142 percent at the highest level and a minimum of 100 percent.

The proposed new pay structure will be implemented in three phases. This will result in a significant increase in salaries for government officials and employees compared to the previous structure.

This pay scale also includes a new proposal for a disabled child allowance. Under this provision, eligible government employees will receive BDT 3,000 per month for a disabled child.
