President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has congratulated Prime Minister Tareque Rahman for his visionary, resolute, and directive speech at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
He extended his congratulations and best wishes to the Prime Minister in a message sent by the President’s Press Wing on Friday (September 25).
In the message, the President commended Prime Minister Tareque Rahman for his speech delivered on behalf of Bangladesh at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Tareque Rahman delivered a speech in Bengali on behalf of Bangladesh during the general debate of the 81st session of the General Assembly at the UN Headquarters in New York.
In his address, the Prime Minister stated that Bangladesh aims to establish a prosperous, self-reliant, and welfare-oriented democratic state by ensuring the political and economic empowerment of its people.
He emphasized that no state can be strong by keeping its citizens disempowered.
The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of advancing the country’s development trajectory through democracy, human rights, good governance, accountability, and political stability.
