Prime Minister Tareque Rahman is scheduled to visit New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. He will arrive in New York next Monday (September 21) and will deliver his address at the session on September 24.
According to sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Minister’s visit to the United States has been shortened. He is expected to depart from New York for Dhaka on the night of September 25, the day after his address on September 24.
During his visit, the Prime Minister will participate in several high-level UN meetings and hold bilateral discussions with top leaders from various countries. He will also take part in discussions organized by Bangladesh on various issues, including the Rohingya crisis.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with top officials from various international organizations, including UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk, and World Bank President Ajay Banga.
