Prime Minister to Visit Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar Today

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is visiting Chattogram for the first time since assuming office through the 13th national parliamentary elections. He will also visit Cox’s Bazar district during this trip.

Today, Sunday (August 9), the Prime Minister will travel by helicopter from Dhaka to Matarbari in Maheshkhali Upazila, Cox’s Bazar, in the morning.

This information was announced by Zahidul Islam Rony, Deputy Press Secretary to the Prime Minister, on Saturday (August 8) afternoon.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office’s itinerary, today at 10:30 AM, he is scheduled to visit the Matarbari Deep Sea Port, the Coal Power Project, and the activities of the Maheshkhali Integrated Development Authority (MIDA).

Following this, Tarique Rahman will participate in a program organized at Pashchim Banshkhali High School and College ground in Baharchhara Union, aimed at rehabilitating those affected by the recent floods.

Around 1:30 PM, he will land at Pehelgazi Dighi field in Fatikchhari Upazila and depart for Al-Jamiatul Islamia Azizul Ulum Babunagar Madrasa. There, the Prime Minister is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Allama Shah Muhibbullah Babunagari. Afterwards, he will offer prayers at the grave of the late Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi.

According to the itinerary, Tarique Rahman will take a break at the Hathazari Zila Parishad Dak Bungalow at 3:45 PM. Subsequently, he is scheduled to join an event at Hathazari Government College ground at 5:00 PM, also for the rehabilitation of recent flood victims.

In the evening, the Prime Minister will attend an organizational meeting at the Radisson Blu Hotel auditorium in Chattogram. After completing the day’s agenda, he will depart for Dhaka. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is expected to arrive in the capital late at night.
